Electrical treadmill maintenance: fault detection through error codes

he following instructions refer to Shanghai eWay controllers, used on several brands (for example Royal Beach and Starter). They may apply to other treadmill controllers.
Error E0 The safety key of the treadmill is not in place
When E0 is displayed, insert the security key in place. If it doesn’t work, replace the key.

Error E1 Failure to receive speed signal from the sensor or the motor control board of the treadmill
Unscrew and lift the motor housing carefully
1. Check the condition of the cables and make sure that all connections between the motor speed sensor, motor control board and console are ok.
2. Check that the speed sensor and the magnet are correctly aligned (distance 2-3 mm) and that no metal parts have been attached to the magnet (i.e. screws).
The magnet is located on the front roller, near the motor belt.
3. If the running belt moves and then the E1 code appears after 10 seconds, check and if necessary replace the speed sensor. Buy it on www.partsfortreadmill.com
4. If the treadmill belt does not move, check the motor control board and the motor

E3 Error in the self-checking procedure of the treadmill
1. If the travel belt does not move, check the motor control board and the motor
2. Make sure all the wires between the motor control board and the console are connected.
3. Check that the speed sensor and the magnet are correctly aligned (distance 2-3 mm) and that no metal parts have been attached to the magnet (e.g. screws).
The magnet is located on the front roller, near the motor belt.
3. If the travel belt moves and then the E1 code appears after 10 seconds, check and if necessary replace the speed sensor
4. If the travel belt does not move, check the motor control board and the motor. You can have them tested or purchase new ones on www.partsfortreadmill.com

Lack of energy / the treadmill does not turn on
1. Check that the circuit breaker has not been activated by switching the treadmill switch on and off.
2. Check the fuses (they are usually on the motor control board)
3. Check the electrical socket (Insert some other equipment into the socket to make sure it works properly)
4. Check the electric cable (you may need to have it checked by an electrician)
5. If it doesn’t work, we suggest replacing the controller with a new one. You can buy it http://www.partsfortreadmill.com/parts-for-treadmill/treadmill-controllers/
The console is in error or does not turn on:
make sure that the treadmill is connected to the mains, switch off and on the main switch and
be sure that the security key is well positioned. If the problem persists, contact us for assistance.

The belt does not stay in the middle of the treadmill when it is running:
At first, check that the treadmill is positioned on a straight and level surface, then refer to the instructions on the blog about how to tighten and center the belt.
In the event of overheating, noise or if the motor seems to be under stress, provide additional cleaning and lubrication.

The treadmill belt slides during use
after a period of use, the belt may need to be stretched again. Refer to the belt maintenance instructions presented on the blog

The heart rate is wrong:
make sure you have your hands well moistened. Make sure that all connections on the back of the console are well connected and that there are no damaged cables.

The values shown on the display are not accurate.
all values shown on the display are indicative and subject to tolerances according to the class of the treadmill. The home treadmill class is usually the HC class (domestic use) of the EN957 standard.

With a zero inclination, the belt is still slightly inclined.
carry out the self-control procedure as described in the blog. However, it could remain a residual inclination of ± 1%.
